Well I just got paid, now it seems I haven't got two nickels in my jeans. I work and I sweat just to make my pay but Saturday night you know I blow it away. Well its nice when you got, but when you have not, you've got the two days to pay day blues. It's nice when you got, but when you have not, you've got the two days to pay day blues. Pick up my pay check and I ramble around. Go out on a hell bender all over town. I drink some wine man I guzzle down them booze get stuck in a crap game and do nothin but lose. Well its nice when you got, but when you have not, you've got the two days to pay day blues. It's nice when you got, but when you have not, you've got the two days to pay day blues. Love is expensive and friendship is free, I sure wish my girl would be more friendly to me. Its give me this and buy me that and by the end of the week you know Im busted flat. Well its nice when you got, but when you have not, you've got the two days to pay day blues. It's nice when you got, but when you have not, you've got the two days to pay day blues.

Wont you be my feet, so I can walk on you. Like the way you did to me when I thought you were true. To tear my very heart out must have been you finest goal. Wont you be my rectum, you make such a good asshole. Wont you be my ears, so I wont hear you cry. The way I did so long ago when we said our good-byes. You never bothered listening when I was pouring out my soul. Wont you be my rectum, you make such a good asshole. Every time I get the shits you know I think of you and all the pain and the misery you used to put me through. You may find the words to this song a bit absurd but don't let no one shit ya, you're still my favorite turd. Wont you be my heart, so I can be like ice. The way you treated me while I was trying to treat you nice. The years of loving you have finally taken their toll, wont be my rectum you make such a good asshole. I said wont you be my rectum you make such a good asshole.

about

Michael O’Hara wrote and recorded these songs with his good friends Billy Davis, David Stegman, Bobby Stegman & Hugh Herbert between the years of 1974 and 1981. The Blue Ridge Ramblers, as they called themselves, mostly hung out and played at Billy’s house on Lake Jackson in Covington, Georgia and then sometimes also at Hugh’s apartment. Occasionally also capturing a random dog bark, the clink of a dish or a child’s crosstalk, they recorded on an old cassette player. Filled with flaws and also subtle perfections, these songs mirror tiny slices of Mike’s story with humor and a matter-of-factness that reminds one of the beautiful pains of love and the all-but-certain promise of a new day. Shortly after the last recording he made, Mike was killed during a robbery in the late summer of 1981, a few short weeks before his 30th birthday. His music and life were cut short, but fortunately he left behind love in the hearts of his family & friends and these songs for posterity.
